World Drowning Prevention

Officers from your local Salford Quays neighbourhood team alongside partners from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Salford City Council, came together at Salford Quays for a water safety demonstration as part of World Drowning Prevention Day 2025.

It was great to see so many children and adults taking part in the water safety activities including elements of how to rescue a casualty.

Our officers were on hand to support the community, patrolling around the area to provide community reassurance. There was also a live safety demonstration in the water using a variety of tactics to rescue a casualty.

We will continue to work alongside our partners as part of our #Safe4Summer campaign to build community relationships and reduce crime across our town centres.
